A striking image (and a beautiful poem) reminds me of an interesting neighborhood in Tokyo.
The National Art Center in Roppongi is a striking setting, and interesting in that it presents changing exhibitions of art. (One of the current exhibits is on Yayoi Kusama, who has been featured in several U.S. exhibits recently.) And if I remember correctly it is free?
It is in one of my favorite areas of Tokyo. Roppongi and Nishi-Azabu is an international diplomatic expatriate rich very interesting area. We were lucky to be able to spend several weekends at the Hardy Barracks, which is in the former U.S. Command / Stars & Stripes compound dating from the end of WWII. Besides the museum, interesting places in the area are the historic Aoyama Cemetery (fascinating to wander in), Roppongi Hills, Mori Tower and Garden (and also an art museum in the Tower), Gonpachi (the Kill Bill restaurant), Tokyo Midtown, and of course shopping galore.
Just another interesting area to explore.
Have you been there?
