Sakanaya Dojo Nagano Eki Zenkoji Guchiten
A second floor restaurant with a long name that beckoned with the image of a maguro and the first part of the name which I could read suggesting a fish store. It did turn out to be a seafood centric izakaya. Discerning that we were not their usual clientele, the efficient staff let us know that there was no non-smoking section (which seems common in izakaya? although there is much less public smoking these days).
First taste of Atka mackerel or hokke. It was good.
Good food, good service, and an enjoyable atmosphere right across from Nagano Station.
