Between Tokyo and Fukushima, the JR East Shinkansen runs as an E3 Series Tsubasa coupled to an E5 Series Yamabiko.
Although it wasn't obvious from onboard, presumably the Tsubasa decouples and continues to Shinjo, while the Yamabiko goes on to Sendai and beyond?
The E5 is fitted with aircraft type seating.
