Japanese School Bus

Japanese School Bus
One of the things that I enjoy is seeing in Japan is school children going to and from school and on class trips, usually in some form of uniform.
For the most part, they are on foot. Sometimes on trains and public buses. I've never seen an actual school bus there. Somehow it seems so right. And Japanese.

With young children, a common sight is a long line of them walking single file with one or two adults -- what I call a Japanese school bus.
An even more startling, and not uncommon, sight is an early elementary student, often a little girl, walking or riding the train or public bus by themselves.
Says so much about the culture and people.
