It long seemed as though Toto had a virtual monopoly in the high tech commode business in Japan (and elsewhere too?), but recently it seems that Lixil has come on as a challenger?
Lixil is apparently a global force in building supply and technology, and besides these units (which subjectively seem more comfortable than Toto?), they also own Grohe and American Standard among others.
