The WiFi and even mobile data can be spotty when traveling in more remote areas, and especially on high speed trains. The wireless radios presumably lag in switching from one source to the next? If the WiFi is tuned for continuous connection aboard the Shinkansen traveling at speed, it may be a boon to travelers.
