Open Air Museums
We've been to several museums in different parts of Japan where historical old buildings are moved and collected to preserve and educate about how people lived and worked in the past.
They have all been interesting, educational, and worthwhile. And in large part, it is because they have all been living displays, where seeing and interacting with volunteer staff and local people adds so much to the experience. The Historical Village of Hokkaido is no exception to that rule.
